What is a certification letter?
A certification letter is a written verification of a medical license which includes the current status of a license.
How do I request a certification letter?
A request must be submitted in writing with a $10 fee. Include in the request the name and license number of the physician to be certified. Mail to the Medical Board of California, License Program, 2005 Evergreen Street, Suite 1200, Sacramento, CA 95815.
How long will the request take to process?
It may take up to seven working days to complete the letter.
What if there is disciplinary action appearing on the license?
Any physician who has disciplinary activity on his or her license will have his or her request prepared by the Medical Board's Enforcement Program.
