Board Members - Orientation and Training
California Business and Professions Code Section 453 requires every newly appointed board member to complete a training and orientation program offered by the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) within one year of assuming office. The training covers the functions, responsibilities and obligations that come with being a member of a DCA board.
DCA has scheduled the following Board Member Orientation Training (BMOT) sessions:
- September 19, 2007, Oakland, CA
- February 6, 2008, Sacramento, CA
- June 11, 2008, Los Angeles, CA
- October 15, 2008, Orange County, CA
All BMOT sessions will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 3:30 p.m. Board members are requested to make travel arrangements that allow them to attend the full training.
