Medical Board of California
The mission of the Medical Board is to protect health care consumers through the
proper licensing and regulation of physicians and surgeons
and certain allied health care professions and through the vigorous, objective
enforcement of the Medical Practice Act,
and, to promote access to quality medical care through the Board's licensing and regulatory functions.

Pursuant to the Governor's Executive Order S-13-09, the Medical Board of California will be closed on Fridays as follows: July 10th, 17th, and 24th. Starting August 2009 thru June 30, 2010, the Board offices will be closed the first, second, and third Friday of each month.
CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION (CME) NEW REGULATIONS:
Effective January 12, 2009, California Code of Regulations Title 16, §1336 requires licensees to complete at least 50 hours of approved CME during each biennial renewal cycle. For more information click, HERE.
$25 MANDATORY FEE FOR THE PHYSICIAN LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM:
Effective January 1, 2009, California Business and Professions Code (B&P) 2435.2 requires applicants to pay a mandatory fee of $25.00 at the time of issuance or renewal of a physician and surgeon's license. For more information, click HERE.
